Tyma helps you keep track of your time — your calendar, your meetings, who is free when, and what is about to collide.
These Terms are the agreement between you and the person who runs Tyma. They are meant to be read, so they are shorter and plainer than most. Where something matters to you, it is said directly rather than buried.
By creating an account or using Tyma, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Tyma.
1. Who runs Tyma
Tyma is an independent product. It is not a registered company — there is no incorporated business behind it. It is built and run by one person, based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, whose contact details are in section 15.
This is said plainly because it affects you. You are agreeing with an individual, not a corporation. It also means Tyma is a small operation: it is built carefully, but there is no support desk, no legal department, and nobody on call at three in the morning.
If Tyma is ever incorporated, these Terms will be updated to name the company, and you will be told before that happens.
2. Who can use Tyma
Tyma is for everybody. Everyone has a schedule — a student, a trader, a nurse on shifts, a parent running a household — and there is no age limit on using this.
One thing the law asks of us. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these Terms for you, because someone under 18 cannot be held to an agreement on their own. Nothing else changes: you get the same Tyma everybody else gets.
If you are using Tyma on behalf of an organization — a team, a business, a school — you are confirming that you are allowed to agree to these Terms for that organization.
3. Your account
You need an account for most of Tyma. When you create one, please give accurate details and keep your password to yourself.
You are responsible for what happens through your account. If someone gets into it, tell us as soon as you can and we will help you shut it down.
If a break-in happens because of a security failure on Tyma's side rather than yours, that is our responsibility, not yours.
4. What Tyma does, and what it does not promise
Tyma shows you your schedule, warns you about clashes, works out when people are free, and sends reminders.
None of that is a guarantee. Specifically:
- Availability and conflict detection are based only on what Tyma can see. An event that lives somewhere Tyma cannot read is an event Tyma cannot warn you about.
- Calendars connected from other services sync on a delay, and that delay can hide a clash.
- Notifications depend on your device, your browser, your email provider and your network. Some will be late. Some will not arrive.
- Time zones are a common source of confusion, and a wrongly configured one will show you the wrong time.
Do not rely on Tyma alone for anything you cannot afford to miss. For a flight, a court date, a medical appointment or anything with a real cost to getting it wrong, check the original source too.
5. Organizations
You can create or join an organization in Tyma to coordinate with other people.
Whoever creates an organization administers it, and can invite and remove members, set roles and permissions, manage teams and shared calendars, and change organization settings.
Depending on how an organization is set up, other members may be able to see your availability, the events you are part of, and your profile. If you are joining an organization run by your employer or your school, ask them what they have configured before you put anything private into it.
If you administer an organization, that comes with obligations: invite only people who should be there, give them only the access they need, remove people who leave, and follow the employment and data-protection laws that apply to you. Tyma is not responsible for how an organization chooses to run itself.
Where an organization decides what personal data goes into Tyma and why, that organization is the data controller for it and Tyma processes it on their behalf. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy sets out the terms on which that processing happens, and those terms form part of this agreement.
6. Your content
Whatever you put into Tyma — event titles, descriptions, notes, your profile, your picture — stays yours.
To actually run the product, Tyma needs permission to store that content, move it between your devices, show it back to you, show it to the people you have shared it with, and back it up. You give us that permission, and only for those purposes. It ends when you delete the content, apart from copies sitting in backups, which are overwritten on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models. Section 7 says exactly what the AI features do.
If you send us a suggestion or a feature request, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. That is about ideas, not about your content.
7. AI features
Some parts of Tyma use an AI model: describing your fortnight, drafting a meeting from a sentence, suggesting when to put something.
Two rules govern all of it.
The AI proposes, and never writes. Every suggestion arrives as a draft you look at and approve. Nothing reaches your calendar because a model decided it should.
The AI is often wrong, and is not advice. Treat what it produces as a first draft from someone who has not checked their work. Read it before you accept it.
The model is Google's Gemini API. When you use one of these features, the relevant part of your schedule is sent to Google to produce the answer, and the answer comes back. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent and what Google may do with it.
You can use Tyma without ever touching an AI feature. They are additions to screens that work without them.
8. Connected calendars
You can connect a Google Calendar to Tyma.
That connection is read-only. Tyma asks Google only for permission to read your calendar, never to write to it, so nothing Tyma does can add, change or delete an event in your Google Calendar. This is a deliberate limit, not a current gap.
You can disconnect a calendar at any time in settings. Disconnecting stops any further reading straight away. Events already copied into Tyma stay until you delete them or your account.
Tyma is not responsible for outages, errors or changes at Google or any other service it connects to.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Tyma to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to impersonate someone, to get into an account that is not yours, to probe or bypass its security, to spread malware, to send spam, to scrape it in bulk, or to overload it.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you first.
10. What Tyma costs
Tyma is free. There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no card details to give.
If that ever changes, you will be told well before it does, nothing will start charging you automatically, and anything you have already put into Tyma will remain yours to export and take with you.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Tyma whenever you like.
There is no delete button in the app yet. Until there is, email the address in section 15 and your account and its content will be deleted, within 30 days, along with everything set out under retention in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously break these Terms, if your use puts other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is practical, you will get notice and a chance to get your data out.
When an account ends, its events and content go with it. Content that belongs to an organization stays with the organization.
Tyma itself may one day shut down. If that happens, you will be given reasonable notice and a way to export your data before it does.
12. Liability
Tyma is provided as it is. It is not guaranteed to be available, correct, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a missed meeting, a clash we failed to spot, a reminder that never arrived, lost time, lost business, or data lost through a failure of a service Tyma depends on.
Because Tyma is free, our total liability to you for anything arising out of it is limited to ₦50,000.
None of this limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any consumer right you have that cannot be signed away.
Keep your own records of anything important. That is the honest advice, and it applies to every scheduling tool, not only this one.
13. If something goes wrong between us
Please email first. Almost everything can be sorted out that way, and it is much faster than the alternative.
If it cannot be, this agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes go to the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria. If you are a consumer somewhere with laws that give you the right to bring a claim closer to home, this does not take that right away.
14. Changes to these Terms
These Terms will change as Tyma does. When a change is a material one, you will be told inside the app or by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will move.
Carrying on using Tyma after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, close your account — section 11.
